second last day of year 2009...let's rewind and see what i have done for the past 12 months...

1. working in prints till end feb. reward? mastered the art of nice gift wrapping, especially tying ribbons!! :D

2. got a job in moe. temporary admin assistant, or in other words, sai gang warrior!!! :F finally gained some proper admin work experience. minus the brainless photocopying and loooooong train rides. i think i will never go to the west side for quite a while unless something REALLY URGENT calls for it. :F not forgetting, getting to know some nice colleagues who helped me pulled through those long working hours. and getting to know my a's result in office. :(

3. got my first permanent job. although the change was quite sudden and there were some rejection syndrome initially, i got to say my adaptation skills pulled me through quite well and TA DAH!!! actually am quite fortunate to hv gotten this job at this point in time...given the economy crisis, i still managed to find a job that pays 'ok-ish', at least reasonable for me. not much staff benefits but no OTs as well. not much colleagues, in fact only 1, but no boss as well!! :D not much leave but not much work/stress. which means as long as i finish my work, my office becomes my internet cafe/self-study room or whatever you wanna call it. a bit busy at times, a bit irritated at times but still bearable. got to admit...slacking took up most of the time. learnt lots of stuffs here, can be personal assistant/secretary already!!! hahahaha. and where else can you find a job that allows you to be late almost everyday??!!! this point alone makes my job good enough for me to want to stay on. good or bad? my verdict is -----> :D

4. started school!!! for a moment i thought i might get to study sports science in ntu after the positive feedback which my interviewer gave before i left the room. but nah, life ain't a bed of roses after all. optimisim doesnt make dreams come true. but at least it gives you the strength to seek for an alternative route. 要相信天无绝人之路！！part-time studying is no joke man. but 3 yrs from now i think i will be damn proud of myself when i receive my degree. i am sure that i can make the best out of these 3 years. gambateh!!! 有人说：“过程不重要，重要的是结果。” 又有人说:"结果不重要，重要的是过程。" 对我而言，过程和结果一样重要。只在乎结果而忽视过程，既错过了学习与成长。只在乎过程而忽视结果的话，既无成功可谈。3 years is all i have to prove my worth. at least for the next 3 years, i will be doing something which is of my interest and i enjoy doing. a major motivation!!! :D

5. towards the end of 2009, i attended so many wedding dinners that i got really sick of it!! :X cousin's wedding in m'sia was simple but yet, a grand affair. i bet it's because of the company(my lovely relatives and cousins). followed by ms wan's wedding dinner. the first time i attended my teacher's wedding. ironic coz we ain't close at all. :X bet she'll be damn heartbroken to see this. i treated that as a chance to meet my long-time-no-see classmates!!! still a bunch of 'modest'ians'. super ironic coz we ain't modest at all!!! still rmb our class slogan was 'guai lan is our style' HAHAHAHAHA!!!! the iconic 'bengs & lians' who hangs around in our 'forever nvr on lights' classroom and palawan/siloso beach for volleyball. lots of fun and laughters <3 then my aunt's daughter's wedding dinner. was supposed to go but was so sick of wedding dinners that i went for make-up lesson instead. ;)

6. tour de hong kong/guangzhou/macau with kakis!! longest trip ever. crossed the customs like 1 million times over the span of 8 days. that was the most draining part for the whole tour. plus my bad bad flu during the trip made things worse. having to hug our bags like we're bringing gold bars out coz there are signs reminding you to take care of your personal belongings EVERYWHERE!!! train stations, customs, hotels, restaurants and even toilets!!! luckily we survived the trip without any "slash and splash". slash stands for pickpockets and splash referring to acid attacks in HK. WOOHOO!!! bravo!!! had memorable clubbing experience in lan kwai fong with kakis, minus the corny scene where a ang moh knelt down while dancing in front of his gf. HAHAHAHAHA!!! love it when the guy who went around grinding and touching girls saw us giving him the disgusted look. he looked so 'caught in the act' that he retreated to another corner immediately. HAHAHAHA!!! kakis save the day again!!! :D and not to forget our fun day at ocean park!! :D when our souls left us when we took the abyss, it kept on rising and rising i though it was bringing me to see my grandmother in heaven. :S coolest dolphin show and 360 degrees roller-coaster plus mine train!!! can still hear my heart going "pip pop pip pop pip pop~~" HAHAHAHA!!! kind of messy here coz jus typing whatever that comes to my mind..(: then my bad crash at go kart in macau..): my biggest 'present' brought back from macau was actually the 2 GIGANTIC ORH CEH (blue-black) from my go kart crash. SOBS!!!! :_( had nice organic dinner as consolation. hahaha. and a bit of casino action in venetian and liboa. though we hum ji only dare to play sic bo, which tortured me and van for close to 4 hrs betting on our hkd$300 = sgd$60 and i agree with van's saying of 不赌就是赢。after that 4 hrs of nerve wrenching guessing and tapping extensively on our intuition, we lost. boo!! was super tired physically and mentally after that. ): did tonnes of shopping and bargaining in guangzhou. lesson learnt : never ask for the price of anything unless you are really keen in buying that item. once you ask, the shop keeper will keep on bargaining until you buy!! personal experience : i asked for the price of a cardigan which in the end i didnt want to buy then the shop keeper just stuffed it into my bag and charged me less than half of what she offered initially. Faints. and if you really dont buy, they will scold you like some crazy woman. service excellence?? hohoho.not a chance. managed some good buys even tough it was winter season and the clothes were really limited. dont expect me to buy long sleeves and winter wear for our sunny singapore right? hahaha. and i am so proud that i stick closely to my shopping list!! thus my not over-spending!!! :D KUDOS TO MYSELF!! :D cut my hair in hk while sj and van dyed and highlighted their's. :D hk hairdresser cut really nicer than s'pore!! :D more trendy. <3 and one hair-dresser said he could tell that we are singaporeans coz he watched jack neo's "小孩不笨" and he said we talked exactly the same way as in the movies!! hahahaha!!! joke of the trip!!

ya da ya da and lots of minute details about things which happened during my trip which i am lazy to elaborate on here. got to comment on how much i love singapore and am proud to be a singaporean!!! after the long trip to 3 different places, i still find home the best place to be in.
i can hang out till past midnight and not worry about being robbed on my way home. no need to hug my bag until my hands ache while i'm out. clean and green streets with toilets and rubbish bins easily accessible. world class transport and infrastructure. idiot proof transport system and maps. hygenic and tasty food. and our powerful/trusted passport that is recognised all over the world. no need to spend hours on making visa before our trip. I AM PROUD TO BE A SINGAPOREAN!! :D okay, let talk a bit about my plans for 2010 before noisy guides come into office to get ready for potluck later in the evening. :F

2010:

1. wish to get good grades and improve, if not maintain standard for every module. :D

2. health and happiness for family and friends.

3. fatty and i to stay strong even after he starts school. <3

4. make some drastic changes to my hair. afro? HAHAHAHA!!!

5. delay the onslaught of 21 years old!! NOOOOOOO~~~~~~ i dont wanna grow old!!! :(
hahahahaha... as if i can~~~

6. 30 mins of me time every single day. greatest challenge.

7. revamp my debilitated office

ok must pretend to be busy before noisy guides come into office. byebye! :D

after coming back from my trip from m'sia (kuantan and penang), it made me appreciate singapore even more, much much more...although singapore is very very small and has very limited places of interest, but at least we are :

1. geographically safe from nature's assult in terms of natural disasters

2. good governance free from corruption (my cousin were telling us the power of RM$10 whenever m'sian drivers are stopped by traffic police..HAHA!!)

3.we dont hv drivers who read newspaper as they drive.YES!!! READ NEWSPAPER!!! i was ultimate shocked when i saw the LADY with the papers on her steering wheel while she was driving.NOT RED LIGHT SOMEMORE!!!! >:[

4.we dont hv drivers travelling at 160kpm on normal roads. yes normal road!!! not EXPRESSWAY!!! and neither are we starring in tokyo drift..S:

5. super clean environment.let me emphasize agn, SUPER CLEAN!!! for example: the level of cleaniness of our normal shopping mall toilets is comparable to their hotel/airport toilets? and no hawkers by the drains? even though it comes as trade-off with cheaper and maybe some 古早味/tastier food?

6. our roads are smooth!!! not bumpy like as if we're travelling on rocky hills.

that's all for singapore v.s. malaysia for now..haha..

anyway i thought the holiday was supposed to let me recharge myself, but instead it drained me inside out. :[ slept at an avergae of 1am and waking up at an average of 8am everyday? to scan bone mass density, go cousin's wedding and tag along for all the formalities, shopping, packing etc etc PIANGS!!! freaking tired!!!! not to mention the furnace-like temperature!! :[ BUT!! the companion of my cousins and penang chendol were the best rewards!!! woo hoo!!! love my relatives there!!! :D

内心独白：

那一天，在我匆忙的步伐中，我发现走路对我而言竟是一种享受，一种奢侈。
那一双穿梭人群，健步如飞的脚，属于我的。
我没有多余的时间慢下脚步，去细细感受早晨的温暖。
我每日的行程如下：
赶完交通灯，赶巴士，赶完巴士赶地铁。下了地铁又得赶过交通灯。
惟有赶到了办公室才能停下那双操劳过度的脚。

辛苦了一整天，终于到了下班时间，不知从几时开始，我变得非常想家，一放工就想立刻飞回家。那种渴望马上回家的感觉，我好像从来没有过。就算有，也是在外面玩到累毙了才会有向往回家的感觉。是什么原因造成我的‘思家症’，我也不是很清楚。多半是因为大多数的时间不是在办公室就是在学校，剥夺了我的天伦时间。现在周末有时间就只想呆在家里静静的做自己想做的事，和家人一起看电视，或跟朋友打打牌，悠闲的度过周末。

偶尔放工回家后，赖在电视前做couch potato真的很爽。
把该看的lectures,该revise的chapters都抛到九霄云外，享受当下的无忧无虑，做个电视迷，真的很不错。

时间到了，灰姑娘得就寝了。今天的内心独白就分享到这里了。:D
